Mohammad Shahnawaz Khan, BA, RPSGT, CCSH

I was born in san francisco, and grew up in Reno, Nevada until the age of six. I lived most of my life in Los Angeles and moved to Santa Barbara to study at UC Santa Barbara. I began as a sleep technician and while going to school I studied for my RPSGT exam. I went to school full time and worked full time overnight shifts, so most of my time was spent either studying for work or school. I eventually received my RPSGT license and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Sociology. After some time I applied to Stanford and began working there as a Sleep Technologist III. I began to go to many different conferences and networked with different individuals, and became a member of the Exam Development Committee for the BRPT, where I helped develop test questions for the RPSGT Board Exam. In 2016 I was nominated to be on the BRPT Board of Directors, and I am continuing to aspire to help the field of sleep in any way that I can. I received a new credential the CCSH in 2016 in hopes to use the credential to learn more about behavioral sleep as well as help with compliance. I aspire in the future to pursue a pHD in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Insomnia.
