I have been involved in the field of sleep medicine since 1990 when I completed a formal fellowship in sleep medicine under the direction of one of the original pioneers of sleep medicine, Dr. Philip Westbrook. I hold board certifications in sleep medicine by two different certifying bodies, American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) and American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). I am and have been heavily involved in teaching sleep medicine and pulmonary disease at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. I founded the Sleep Disorder Center at Century City Hospital in Los Angeles in 1992 and later, realizing the scarcity of sleep evaluation and treatment facilities in Southern California, I founded and established Advanced Sleep Medicine Services in 1994, and I am currently serving as its Chief Medical Officer. Advanced Sleep Medicine is now the largest California based provider of sleep medicine related services.
I have been involved in all aspects of sleep medicine, including technical, medical, academic, leadership and business development for over 25 years. Having that experience, it is my pleasure to bring my experience in various capacities to the California Sleep Society including: physician, technologist and patient advocacy, sharing my experiences and knowledge with regards to the business aspect of sleep medicine, and advancing California Sleep Society’s goal in promoting sleep health and awareness.
