👉Suggested message:
- Dear Honorable Legislators, please support SB-1197. This bill is the quickest, safest, and most sure way to ditch the switch, as most everyone wants to do. Permanent Standard Time is pre-approved by federal law, it’s proven by history to last decades, and it’s supported by science to be best for sleep, mood, health, safety, learning, and productivity. Daylight Saving Time darkens mornings and deprives sleep, for no objective benefit. Summer and winter will always have longer and shorter days by nature. Arizona, Hawaii, Mexico, and most nations have ditched DST, and most US states are considering it. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine, National Safety Council, American Academy of Neurology, and a hundred more nonprofits endorse this. We are tired of switching and tired of waiting. Support SB-1197 to ditch DST!
🙌 If you’d like also to speak in person:
- Location is Room 1200 of the Capitol Annex: 1021 O St, Sacramento, CA 95814
- Come at the hearing time, and when members of the public are invited to speak, step to the microphone, say your name and where you live or work, and say “I support this bill”.

- “Permanent Standard Time is the only fair, viable option… Permanent Daylight Saving could create real health/safety issues. Humans require adequate morning light so that our internal biological rhythms synchronize properly to local time. Lack leads to metabolic disorders, depression, cardiovascular disease…”
